How to Get More Email Sales when you Market to your Mailing List

We've talked about how important email lists are, now I want to discuss what you can do to increase the sales you get from your email marketing.

Sending out an email to your prospective buyers is a very profitable thing to do.  In time, they will provide you with a steady income but, in order to turn them into buyers it is necessary to promote yourself as an honest and reliable person as well as an expert.

Subscribers will only see you as an expert if you provide them with a constant stream of free valuable information which helps solve their problems.  Those who are reading your message will then see your information as helpful and understand that you are trying to solve their problems.  It is vital to keep the needs of the reader in mind at all times so that the impression that you give will be one of helping and advising rather than one of taking or trying to make a profit.

It is essential that when you write your emails you write them in a conversational style.  Your messages will then have a personal touch.  If you always write in a technical way and assume that the reader will easily understand everything that you want to say then some readers will stop reading.  Others will just feel that they are being lectured to and they will not enjoy this. Here are some great email campaign tips which will help you write better and connect with your readers.

How to write emails that make money

  • What readers want is a friendly message that talks directly to him or her.  On the Internet it is very important to talk directly to your subscriber in a friendly way because there are so many impersonal messages that we receive in our inboxes every day.

  • The first way to get sales is to use the word "you" as often as possible in your emails.  This will make the reader feel that you are talking directly to him or her.  This will build a personal relationship that will lead to more sales.

  • So far we have talked about providing free information which is useful to the reader and writing in a conversational way using "you" as often as possible.  The whole point of your emails is to get the reader to click through to your website and look for more information so you don’t want to provide all the information in your email, you want to interest the reader to take action.  Usually your aim when sending emails is not to sell a product directly in your email but to get the reader interested in buying, this is not the same thing.

  • When you send an e-mail make sure you send it in plain text, not in HTML format.  This will make sure that everybody can see it.  Don’t worry, links will still be seen if you use the full URL (http://www.yoursite.com).

These are just a few ideas for you to improve your sales in your emails.
